1. General Provisions

These Terms of Service (hereinafter — the "Agreement") govern the use of the "RetroDvor" service (hereinafter — the "Service"), available at retro-dvor.ru, and define the rights and obligations of the User and the Service Operator.

By using the Service, the User confirms that they have fully read and accept these Terms in their entirety. If the User does not agree with the Terms, they must stop using the Service.

Acceptance of these Terms is a mandatory condition for uploading user content (ROM files) to the Service. Uploading files without accepting the Terms is technically impossible.

2. Description of the Service

"RetroDvor" is a platform for playing retro games (8-bit and 16-bit) in a browser and on mobile devices. The Service provides:

  • Playing retro games via a built-in emulator
  • Cloud game saves
  • Achievement system
  • Multiplayer (co-op play)
  • Uploading personal ROM files
  • Access via web browser, PWA, mobile and desktop applications

The Service is provided free of charge.

3. Authorization

Authorization in the Service is performed exclusively through the "CheckPoint" single sign-on system (chkpnt.ru) using the OAuth 2.0 protocol.

  • A "CheckPoint" account is required to use the Service
  • Registration and account management are performed at chkpnt.ru
  • The Service receives only public profile data (identifier, username, avatar, display name)
  • All actions in the Service are linked to the User's account

4. ROM Files and Intellectual Property

4.1. Uploading ROM Files

  • The User may upload their own ROM files for personal use
  • Uploaded files are stored in encrypted form and are accessible only to the owner
  • The Operator reserves the right to verify uploaded files against the catalog

4.2. User Responsibility

The User bears full responsibility for the legality of the ROM files they upload. By uploading a file, the User confirms that they have the right to use it (they own the original cartridge or have otherwise obtained a legal right).

4.3. Operator's Position

The Operator does not distribute ROM files protected by copyright. The Service provides only a software platform (emulator) for running files provided by the User. The Operator is not responsible for the content of files uploaded by Users.

5. Gameplay and Fair Play

5.1. Achievement System

  • Achievements are awarded based on game session data
  • The Operator reserves the right to verify achievements
  • Achievements obtained in violation of the rules may be revoked

5.2. Anti-Cheat System

To ensure fair gameplay, the Service monitors game sessions. Monitored aspects include: emulator code integrity, timing anomalies, and suspicious input patterns.

The User agrees that monitoring data is used exclusively to ensure fairness and is not shared with third parties.

5.3. Prohibited Actions

  • Using cheats, emulator modifications, and automation tools to obtain achievements
  • Manipulating saves to falsify progress
  • Attempting to bypass the achievement verification system

6. Cloud Saves

  • Game saves are automatically synchronized in the cloud
  • Saves are linked to the User's account and available on all devices
  • The Operator makes reasonable efforts to preserve data but does not guarantee its absolute safety
  • Upon account deletion, all associated saves are permanently deleted

7. Prohibited Actions

The User is prohibited from:

  • Attempting unauthorized access to other users' data or Service infrastructure
  • Using the Service to distribute malicious software
  • Disrupting the Service's operation
  • Using automated tools for mass interaction with the Service without the Operator's permission
  • Distributing materials that violate the laws of the Russian Federation through the Service
  • Uploading content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights

8. Complaints and Content Moderation

If the User discovers content that violates these Terms, intellectual property rights, or the laws of the Russian Federation, they may:

  • Use the "Report" function in the application
  • Send a report to service@chkpnt.ru with a description of the violation

The Operator reviews reports within 5 business days and takes action in accordance with the Intellectual Property Policy.

9. Account and Data Deletion

The User may request deletion of their account and all associated data at any time. Detailed information is available on the Data Deletion page.

10. Limitation of Liability

  • The Service is provided "as is." The Operator does not guarantee uninterrupted operation
  • The Operator is not responsible for the loss of game saves due to technical failures
  • The Operator is not responsible for actions of third parties who gain access to the User's account due to the User's fault
  • The Operator is not responsible for the content of ROM files uploaded by Users
  • The Operator's total liability is limited to the amount actually paid by the User

11. Intellectual Property

All rights to the Service, including its design, software code, the "RetroDvor" trademark and logo, belong to the Operator. Rights to retro games belong to their respective rights holders.

12. Changes to the Agreement

The Operator may make changes to these Terms. The current version is posted on this page with the date of the update. Continued use of the Service after publication of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Russian Federation. All disputes are resolved through negotiation, and if that is not possible — in court at the Operator's location in accordance with applicable Russian law.
